Director of Quality Control – Cosmetics and Skin Care Manufacturing

Christine Valmy Inc. is seeking an expert Director of Quality Control who specializes in Cosmetics and Skin Care Manufacturing to join the growing team in our skin care products division.

Responsibilities

 I. Establish and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) for Christine Valmy Inc.

  • Formalize our Quality Policy and Quality Objectives.
  • Manage and maintain all required product and material qualifications.
  • Lead the creation of a Continuous Improvement culture.
  • Assure the availability and calibration of all quality instruments.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with all departments to assure alignment and coordination of all Quality requirements and initiatives.
  • Collect, track and analyze Quality performance data and develop and lead execution of action plans to continuously improve.

II. Quality Training and Documentation

  • Create, maintain and update necessary procedures, forms, and aids to execute and record all required actions to assure products and materials conform to specifications.
  • Establish training requirements and frequency of personnel.
  • Ensure training is completed as required.
  • Maintain necessary records.

III. Quality Assurance

  • Implement formal systems for verification of conformance for materials and products.
  • Implement necessary controls, labeling, etc. to assure properly inspected and released materials are transacted.

IV. Quality Process Control

  • Work with the Production team to implement necessary in-process controls, testing, and inspections to reduce and detect nonconformance as early in the process as possible.

V. Customer Complaints and Nonconformance

  • Create and administer the system for documenting, investigating, and resolving product and packaging-related customer complaints.
  • Document, investigate, and resolve internally identified nonconformers.
  • Establish the root cause of issues and required corrective and preventive actions to eliminate them.
  • Establish monitoring and review systems to monitor progress and identified unresolved issues.
  • Establish a product recall procedure.

VI. Audits

  • Establish an internal audit program and schedule to confirm compliance with procedures and policies.
  • Coordinate and lead 2nd and 3rd party audits and manage all findings to assure satisfactory resolution.

VII. Product Development

  • Work with the Development team to develop and maintain standards for product/package evaluation and creation of standards and specifications.
  • Support the scale-up and commercialization of formulas.

Experience

  • Project Management and attention to detail.
  • Previous experience in quality control and the beauty industry strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the organization in a warm, welcoming, and professional manner.
  • Educate clients and prospects on the formulas, products, and treatments that would be most appropriate for them or their spas/salons.
  • Respond to product inquiries in a timely manner across all touchpoints.
  • Place orders over the phone and email.
  • Collect accurate customer information to ensure seamless service.
  • Review and approve professional client website accounts.
  • Communicate with the warehouse, marketing department, and school locations to ensure operations are aligned on various initiatives (e.g. promotions, new product launches, etc.).
  • Monitor collateral needs for client distribution.
  • Administrative tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Nurture client relationships by providing support and recommendations.
  • Be proficient in juggling numerous tasks while staying organized.
  • Have the ability to think critically and exercise good judgment when interacting with clients.
  • Consistently present a professional and polished demeanor.
  • Thrive in a lively and fast-paced environment to provide optimal customer service.
  • Possess a current Cosmetology or Esthetician License.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a must.
