Course description:

Advanced Makeup takes you beyond the confines of just learning how to make a woman look beautiful, it allows you to emphasize the natural beauty of women in unexpected ways.  From high-fashion makeup to theater & monster makeup, this course will teach you how to do it.

Topics Covered in this Course:

Advanced Makeup exposes the student to the different situations makeup artists might find themselves in, including print/photography, theatrical and fashion makeup.

  • Contouring and Highlighting:  Students will learn how to minimize and accentuate certain facial features using makeup.
  • Bridal Makeup:  Bridal makeup demands a particular application because it has to create a natural daytime look that maintains its beauty all day long.
  • Photography and Print Makeup:  The camera’s flash creates a certain type of light, and a specific type of makeup is necessary to create the best look that the circumstances of print photography demand.
  • Theatrical Makeup:  Theater makeup accentuates facial features so the audience can read the actors’ expressions.
  • Fashion Makeup:  Fashion Week is one of the biggest events in the beauty industry.  This subject develops your creativity and ability to emphasize beauty in different, unexpected ways.
  • Period Makeup:  Throughout the centuries, makeup has changed both in application and ingredients.  This subject teaches you how to create looks that reflect different decades, which is very helpful if you would like to work in the film industry.
