Makeup artists

Name: Angela DiMauro

Job title /Salon Name : Make-up Artist /Spa Consultant Owner of Lexie Michaels Cosmetics, Inc.

Do you think it is important to attend school for make-up artistry? Yes I do believe it is important to attend a make-up artistry school.

Who inspired you to be a make-up artist? I am a perfectionist and wanted to learn from a professional in the field the proper technique’s used in the industry to intensify ones
beauty.

What is your favorite aspect of your job? Through the application of Makeup textures and color pallets I am able to help a person feel and look their best

What is your basic skin care regimen? The basic skin care regimen I use are products that will ensure my skin is clean, hydrated and toned on a daily basis. I usually exfoliate my skin twice weekly to allow the dead skin cells to be completely removed. I will apply repair serums or anti-aging treatment’s as needed. I alternate cleansers, moisturizers and toners so
my skin doesn’t get used to the regiment and stop working.

In make-up application & techniques, what is the most common mistake women make? The most common mistake women make in make-up application is either when they apply too much product or do not apply any at all.

Do you have any special tips for our students? The tip I would recommend to student is when they practice on model (friend, family) take pictures in different lighting of their work. Many times you will get a different perspective of your work in different lighting. Also always do a make-up trial on your model when possible, especially when first starting out to build confidence and this will help make the application go extremely mooth!

If you are interested in Makeup artistry too, feel free to contact Christine Valmy international school to have more information about our Makeup classes and seminars…
