Barcacel, Sowka
Could you tell us a little bit about your background?
I was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. I was the first grandchild in my family. I grew up with a lot of love and family support. My family always tells me” all your dreams can come true if you work hard for them, it only takes education and hard work”. I always dreamt to be a business woman and to own my own business! But as every child, I didn’t know what I wanted to be when I grew up?
I was 20 years old when my family moved to “America” the country of opportunity. At that moment I knew my dream of being a success for business women could come true. But once again, I didn’t know in which field! I went to college to become a doctor. In Dom. Rep., I did not want to study for too long, I just wanted to have my own business so I became a Licensed Massage Therapist. I knew it wasn’t enough. I enrolled in Christine Valmy School to become a Licensed Esthetician. I cannot say enough how thankful I am for all the knowledge I learned. Christine Valmy helped me to accomplish my goal and now, I am happy I can say I own my business,“Sowka spa”.I am a business woman! I cannot thank enough the school and my teachers.
