Could you tell us a lit­tle bit about your background?

I was born in Santo Domingo, Domini­can Repub­lic. I was the first grand­child in my fam­ily. I grew up with a lot of love and fam­ily sup­port. My fam­ily always tells me” all your dreams can come true if you work hard for them, it only takes edu­ca­tion and hard work”. I always dreamt to be a busi­ness woman and to own my own busi­ness! But as every child, I didn’t know what I wanted to be when I grew up?

I was 20 years old when my fam­ily moved to “Amer­ica” the coun­try of oppor­tu­nity. At that moment I knew my dream of being a suc­cess for busi­ness women could come true. But once again, I didn’t know in which field! I went to col­lege to become a doctor. In Dom. Rep., I did not want to study for too long, I just wanted to have my own busi­ness so I became a Licensed Mas­sage Ther­a­pist. I knew it wasn’t enough. I enrolled in Chris­tine Valmy School to become a Licensed Estheti­cian. I can­not say enough how thank­ful I am for all the knowl­edge I learned. Chris­tine Valmy helped me to accom­plish my goal and now, I am happy I can say I own my business,“Sowka spa”.I am a busi­ness woman! I can­not thank enough the school and my teachers.

What gave you the inspi­ra­tion to open your own salon?

I worked for a lux­ury spa in Westch­ester and I always believed in myself .With knowl­edge and expe­ri­ence, it was a great time to accom­plish my dream.

How Impor­tant is the qual­ity of the prod­ucts you use in your salon?

The prod­ucts are the basis of your ser­vices. If you don’t believe in your prod­ucts you can’t per­form a good ser­vice.
Know­ing what you use at all times is the key to success.

What are your favorite Chris­tine Valmy prod­ucts, and why?

Lotion X! It’s just a mir­a­cle liq­uid. I won’t per­form any extrac­tion with­out my Mag­gie liquid.

What do you think about the edu­ca­tion you received at the Chris­tine Valmy inter­na­tional school?

On again, I can­not say enough about all the knowl­edge and inspi­ra­tion I got from Chris­tine Valmy Inter­na­tional School.
